Successful communication involves understanding how others see you
When I think of my house, I think of the view from the street. Or maybe the view from my driveway. But how can we get inside the heads of how others see us? I did a little experiment; every time the Amazon driver dropped off a package and took a picture— as proof of delivery—I saved the photo. I now have a collection of 26 photos of the front of my house taken by people who see my house differently. They do not see the curb-side appeal of the small powder blue colonial. They take a "proof of delivery" photo of the package they just dropped off. I see the cobblestoned patio or the brick surrounding the purple door; they see another job well done while escaping my dog's barking (who runs to the window every time someone approaches the house.)
Unexpected viewpoints can enhance the design of your communications. The unexpected angle of the camera and the selection of just the right image can create an original vision for your organization that attracts supporters for your initiative.
